WHAT IS IT

• A Local Area Network (LAN) is aa network that connects devices in a single location like a home, office or school. Local Area Network can be small or large, and can connect devices using cables or wirelessly. Local Area Network also a network contained within a small geographic area, usually within the same building.

HOW DOES LAN WORKS

• IP Address : Each device on a LAN is assigned a unique IP Address. 
• Ethernet Switches : Ethernet Switches use the MAC (Media Access Control) address to direct                                      data across the network. 
  
• Routers : Routers connect devices to the internet and manage network traffic.
• Wi-Fi : Wi-Fi uses radio waves to connect devices to the LAN.

WHERE DOES LAN USE 

• LAN's can be use to connect devices at home, such a computers, printers, and servers.
• LAN's can be use to connect employee workstations, printers, and serves at corporate office. 
• LAN's can be use to connect devices at school, such a computers, printers, serves, and projectors.
• LAN's can be use at a small businesses, such a computers, printers and servers. 

HOW TO MAKE LAN CABLE 

• Measure and cut the cable : Cut the cable to the desired length, adding a little extra for                                                                flexibility.
• Strip the cable jacket : Use cable strippers to remove the outer jacket about 1–2 inches from the                                          end of the cable
• Untwist the wires : Untwist the twisted pairs of wires back to the jacket.
• Arrange the wires: Align the wires in the correct order, following the wiring diagram. 
• Trim the wires : Cut the wires to a length of about half an inch from where they exit the cable                                   jacket.
• Insert the wires into the connector : Push the wires into the RJ45 connector, making sure each                                                               wire is in its own groove.
• Crimp the connector : Insert the connector into the crimping tool and squeeze the handles                                                   together firmly.
• Test the cable: Use a cable tester to confirm that all the wires are connected and the cable is working.
• Repeat for the other end: Repeat steps 1–7 for the other end of the cable.
